In 2003 FBBIB and the Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce entered into a five-year joint venture partnership. With the signing of a historic Memorandum of Understanding, the two largest minority organizations in Florida resolved to work together to identify market-based growth opportunities in minority communities through research, education, policy development/advocacy and programs that will lead to a paradigm shift in the approach of community economic development for minority communities in Florida.
- Access Florida Opportunity, LLC
Access Florida Opportunity, LLC is a subsidiary of FBBIB and a certified Community Development Entity (CDE). Certification as a CDE means that an organization meets the CDE eligibility requirements set forth in the statute governing the New Markets Tax Credit program and the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund of the United States Department of Treasury CDE Certification Guidance document (Federal Register Vol. 66. N0.245).
- Florida Black Business Support Corporation, Inc.
FBBSC is a subsidiary of FBBIB that serves as the statewide investment corporation providing direct loans; loan guarantees; venture capital; franchising financial and technical assistance for minority-owned businesses; and promotes special programs.
- Indigo Key, Inc.
IKI is a subsidiary company of FBBIB that was acquired in 2003 for purpose of facilitating procurement opportunities for Florida minority businesses. As an application service provider (ASP), clients are not required to purchase software, equipment or hire staff to use the system. The ASP is directly linked to more than 80,000 businesses in Florida and greater than one million nationwide.
- Minority Business Information Center, LLC
MBIC is a subsidiary company of FBBIB that serves as the principal minority information and data collection and dissemination resource for the state of Florida. MBIC provides technical support and monitoring of the businesses in which we invest. Additionally, MBIC serves as a resource for collecting and storing minority business information. It supports marketing and demographic research, white papers, financial information services, technology training, business courses and seminars, application software and web-based services, trade shows, exhibits, job fairs, and customized information databases.
